gold ruby mine

If you are bringing young ones with you to Cherokee Cabin, they will certainly appreciate it if you take them by Smoky Mountain Gold & Ruby Mine. I can remember going with my parents to Cherokee NC when I was young as stopping by the mine. It must have been fun, because it is one of the few things I can remember about the entire trip (in case you are wondering, the other was our visit to Ghost Town in the Sky).

If you think you have what it takes to be a miner, you can take your pan to the creek out back and test your skills. There are some natural deposits and gems to be found!

The best part is that you won't leave dissapointed. Even if you don't have any luck down at the creek, they have a store where you can buy your own gemstones at reasonable prices.

You can expect the cost for Smoky Mountain Mine to be about $4 to $10 dollars, depending on what you find. Smoky Mountain Gold & Ruby Mine is open from March through November, and their hours are from 10:00 until 6:00 daily. While staying at Cherokee Cabin, you can make it a trip the kids will remember by taking them to Smoky Mountain Mine..
